Punjab government signed an MoU for setting up an Advanced Welding Workshop, by The Director, Technical Education & Industrial Training (Punjab) with L&T company at Government ITI, Rajpura. The MOU was signed with Nabha Power Limited and EWAC Alloys. It emphasizes the need to proliferate latest skills in welding techniques to all ITI’s by use of this facility to its utmost. NPL is asked to make extensive efforts to accelerate assimilation of these techniques with ITI Trainers and Students.

Support of Universities in this noble cause would act as a catalyst for social and economic development of the rural areas.

Government aims to make the Universities a partner in the Punjab’s rural growth. Universities would nurture five villages with the fulsome support and cooperation of the State Government. Punjab government is using various advanced techniques to improve services like Health, education, agriculture and allied farming, water supply and sanitation, sports and skill development & employment. It’s a master plan for giving boost to development of villages. This kind act would lead to the economic development of people residing in rural areas. Universities play proactive role in imparting skill training to youth and women to make them gainfully self employed. Universities make Punjab people aware about various social welfare initiative steps taken by the State Government so that they could reap their benefits and lead a fruitful life in the means of education. Government is taking every possible step to make the farmers aware about making agriculture more remunerative by reducing their input costs. Shiromani Akali Dal | Historic Decision Regarding SYL

Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Wednesday said the construction of Sutlej Yamuna Link (SYL) canal would not be “allowed at any cost and under any circumstances. He asked the people to get ready for a tough battle ahead for saving river waters of the State. He declared that decisions aimed at “robbing” the State and its people of their “rights” would never be accepted to him and SAD-BJP alliance. 

There never had been any need nor was there one now to construct the SYL canal. Mr. Badal expressed gratitude to the State BJP leadership especially Cabinet Minister Madan Mohan Mittal and State BJP chief Kamal Sharma, who had fully supported the cause for river waters.he declared that he was ready to make any sacrifice rather than allow a single drop of water to flow out of state.he was looking for political revival  through the SYL issue. 

CM declared to safeguard the river waters of the State at any cost in accordance with the Riparian principles. He assailed the Congress for “depriving the State of its genuine rights” related to river waters. Construction of SYL  is ironic for Badal as well. . It is the Badal government that has now de-notified this canal and returned land to the original owners. his government wrote a letter to Haryana on July 4, 1978, seeking Rs 3 crore for the project. 

With the alarming rate at which the water table is going down due to excessive tubewell irrigation, Punjab faces the eventual threat of turning into a desert. Referring to Punjab Termination of Agreements Act 2004, which Congressmen claimed as their major contribution, the Chief Minister said all the agreements which were terminated through this Act, were done by Congress governments. Pig farming is the raising and breeding of domestic pigs. It is a branch of animal husbandry. Commercial pig farming in India for meat production is one of the best and profitable business ideas for the Indian people. The majority of pigs are used for human food but also supply skin. Pigs grow faster than any other animals. They have higher feed conversion efficiency. Pigs can eat and consume almost all types of feed including grains, damaged food, forage, fruits, vegetables, garbage, sugarcane etc.

Pigs are farmed in many countries, though the main consuming countries are in Asia. Despite having the world’s largest herd, China is a net importer of pigs, and has been increasing its imports during its economic development. The largest exporters of pigs are the United States, European Union, and Canada. There are various methods of handling pigs which can be separated into those which lead to positive or negative reactions by the animals. These reactions are based on how the pigs interpret a handler’s behavior. Setting up pig farming business is easy and it requires little investment for building houses and buying equipment. Pig manure is a great and widely used fertilizer. Pig farming business can be a great income opportunities for the small and landless farmers. The pig population of the country is 11.1 millionas per the 2012-13 annual report of Animal Husbandry. Apart from providing meat, it is also a source of bristles and manure. In view of the importance of pig farming in terms of it’s contribution to rural poor and possible potentials for pig rearing in our country, Government of India has initiated measures to promote the pig farming on scientific lines under its five year plans.

Bhagat Singh is the legend hero who sacrificed his life at the age of 21 for India s an Indian revolutionary socialist who was influential in the Indian independence movement. His intentions were praised by everyone in India. He should be awarded bharat ratan for his contribution. His legacy prompted youth in India to continue fighting for independence He is commemorated with a range of memorials including a large bronze statue in the Parliament of India. He acts as an inspirational icon in the Indian freedom struggle. He gave a new direction to the National Movement against the British rule. Patriotism was in his blood. He is often called as “Shaheed Bhagat Singh” as “Shaheed” means “Martyr” after he sacrificed his life for the nation. He became a prominent leader of the “Hindustan Social republican Association” in the year 1928

He had a clear vision and dedication of the purpose in accomplishment of his goals. Bhagat Singh had very clear thoughts and openly defied British. His only aim was to free India from theslavery of British. He established contacts with members of Kirti Kisan Party. The Jalianwala Baghtragedy in 1919 left a scar in Bhagat’s mind which leads to the formation of the Naujawan Bharat Sabha in  March, 1926. In 1926, he along with Kundan Lal and Azad planned to rescue the prisoners of Kakori Case, but they failed and exploded a bomb in Lahore on Dussehra the same year. But they were released due to lack of evidence. He even threw two bombs at the Central Legislative Assembly, with Bakuteshwar Dutt and shouted slogans of “Inquilab Zindabad”. Bhagat Singh openly opposed the discrimination that was made between the British and Indian prisoners. He even went on hunger strike with fellow prisoners to express resentment. British were forced to accept the demands, after a month of long strike. He was finally convicted with murder of Saunders and for the Assembly bomb attack and hence ordered death sentence along with revolutionaries Sukhdev and Rajguru. All three of them were hanged to death in Lahore on March 23, 1981. Bhagat Singh is fondly remembered as “Shaheed-E-Azam” He had a keen mind and intellect that made him a leader in many revolutions.

SHAHEED BHAGAT SINGH

Bhagat Singh was born on September 27, 1907 in a Sikh family in village Banga in Layalpur district of Punjab. His father name was Sardar Kishan Singh and mother Vidyavati. Bhagat’s family was actively involved in freedom struggle.

Bhagat Singh came into contact with some well-known political leaders like Lala Lajpat Rai and Ras Bihari Bose While studying at the local D.A.V. School in Lahore, in 1916. He was only 12 years old when Jalianwala Bagh massacre took place in 1919. Bhagat Singh ran away from home to avoid early marriage, and went to Kanpur. His only aim was to establish a republic in India by means of an armed revolution. In February 1928, a committee from England, called Simon Commission visited India, and with his bad behavior Indians decided to boycott Simon Commission.

While protesting against Simon Commission in Lahore, Lala Lajpat Rai was brutally Laathi charged with injuries. Bhagat Singh took revenge of Lajpat Rai's death by shooting the British official responsible for the killing. He shot down Assistant Superintendent Saunders instead, mistaking him for Scott. To escape death punishment, Bhagat Singh had to flee from Lahore. On April 8, 1929 Bhagat Singh and Batukeshwar Dutt threw bombs in the Central Assembly Hall while the Assembly was in session.

In jail, he went on hunger strike to protest the inhuman treatment of fellow-political prisoners by jail authorities. On October 7, 1930 Bhagat Singh, Sukh Dev and Raj Guru were awarded death sentence by a special tribunal. Despite great popular pressure and numerous appeals by political leaders of India, Bhagat Singh and his associates were hanged in the early hours of March 23, 1931.

“Smart Swachh Villages”

Government is taking initiative step to clean villages. It’s the main objective of improving the quality of life of rural people. To become mainstream in urban areas will show a positive impact and it will be very useful, even for the growth of economy. A number of innovative approaches to improve water supply and sanitation have been tested in Punjab. 

Waste is being treated. A majority of decisions are made in a very centralized manner to make clean environment. Government of Punjab has rolled out at the national level a program to change the way in which water and sanitation services are supported in rural areas. Government is bringing awareness among the people through quite good advertisements. It aims to attain a 100% open defecation free Punjab. It aims to promote community hygiene in rural India. 

To help promote waste management practices, government help by installing colour-coded dustbins to segregate waste, thereby reducing the time-consuming job of waste segregation, he made it easier for the villagers to adopt the change. He even promoted revenue generation by setting up a system for the community to sell recyclable material to the local scrap dealer, which was a great motivator for the villagers. All the villages will soon be a swachh villages. Now, it is all set to become the first state in India with 200 villages being developed as “Smart Swachh Villages” within this year by the Punjab government.

CABINET DECIDES TO RETURN ENTIRE MONEY RECEIVED FROM HARYANA FOR CONSTRUCTION OF SYL

Badal had said last week that Punjab "did not have a single drop of water to spare from its rivers. The Congress said that it will not allow Punjab's water to be shared through the Sutlej-Yamuna Link (SYL) Canal with neighboring Haryana. Both Punjab and Haryana have been locked in a bitter war of words over sharing of river waters. 

These states are unwilling to give up their respective stand on the controversial canal issue. The government will not allow Punjab’s water to be shared through the Sutlej-Yamuna Link (SYL) Canal with neighboring Haryana. Punjab is not in a condition to share even a drop of water with others”. Large number of activists raised slogans and expressed solidarity over not sharing the water of with the neighboring state, Haryana.

CM said that “Punjab is not to tolerate nor allow any unjust decision on SYL and river waters to be forcibly imposed on Punjab”. The resolution said that Punjab had always been discriminated against by the central government on various issues, especially water sharing. It is the situation of “extremely grave and dangerous”. The foundation stone of the SYL canal was laid in April 1982 by then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.  The SYL Canal is entangled in a political and legal quagmire with Punjab and Haryana states unwilling to share river water.

Punjab CM de-notifies acquisition of entire SYL land

Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal thanked the Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley for allocating Rs 100 crore to mark 350th birth celebrations of tenth Sikh master Guru Gobind Singh. He said that this pro-minority stance of the NDA government was a humble tribute of Government of India towards the supreme sacrifice made by the tenth Sikh Guru.

The new budget will help in the elimination of poverty and unemployment, This budget is pro poor, pro farmer, and pro unemployed youth, ensuring the well being of farmers. it would help in improving the efficiency and performance of  boosting the research in agriculture sector. Badal also hailed the decision of creating a dedicated Long Term Irrigation Fund in NABARD with an initial corpus of about Rs 20,000 crore. It will show the positive effect to the Punjab and its economy. Government has shown excellent steps for the improvement on water issues and other crises.

Set up of two focal points to Industrialization in Punjab

The industrial revolution has affected almost every facet of our daily lives. Developing of industrial focal points to facilitate industrial development in Punjab having a network of 42 focal points across the state. It is adequately equipped with modern basic amenities. Government has decided to set up of two industrial focal points in Ludhiana and Patiala districts.

These two industrial focal points would give impetus to industrialization in the state. It will definitely speeds up the production time. It will also help these colleges to start Post Graduate Degree and Diploma courses in near future apart from appointing regular teaching staff to impart quality education to the nursing students. It will have great results for the Punjab people as it will increase profitability, which can make the work environment safer.

Swachh Bharat Mission

Swachh Punjab aims to ensure clean and green environment and create awareness among the people of Punjab. The aim of the mission is to ensure that not only, every rural house hold will have it’s own toilet but everybody will use it too. 

Government has promised in constructing  8 lac House Hold toilets and latrines for strengthening cleanliness bond. Thus project has Greater thrust  on awareness generation and mobilizing the community to take the lead in changing its sanitation status and changing the socially acceptable norm of open defecation. It is for monitoring the progress of the Swachh Bharat Mission in rural areas.

Swachh Bharat Mission was launched as a national movement to bring cleanliness campaign run by the government of India and initiated by the Honourable Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. It aims to cover all the backward statutory towns to make them clean. It has helped a lot in promoting sanitation programmes in the rural areas, cleaning streets, roads and changing the infrastructure of the country to develop country ahead. This mission is free from politics. A true inspiration of the patriotism.

It is started as the first responsibility of the each and every citizen to make this country a Swachh country. This campaign has initiated people globally towards the cleanliness. Teachers and students of the school are joining this “Clean India Campaign” very actively with great Endeavor and joy. Whitefly Attack Bt cotton – Akali Dal

Punjab Agriculture University (PAU) has recommended the hybrids of Bt cotton for cultivation in Punjab on the basis of incidence of leaf curl disease, whitefly, is the major insect of cotton. It mostly attack on bt cotton. Whiteflies are tiny, sap-sucking insects that may become abundant in vegetable and ornamental plantings, especially during warm weather. Outbreaks often occur when the natural biological control is disrupted.

So in order to kill whiteflies Punjab government has launched the special campaign. It causes crop losses through direct feeding. can also spread viruses from plant to others. Their colonies affect a wide range of vegetables, ornamental plants and trees. Washing the plant, especially the undersides of leaves, may help reduce the number of the pests on the plants and make their management by other methods more effective.  

Whiteflies are also attracted by the color yellow, so yellow sticky paper can serve as traps to monitor infestations. Weeding out of congress grass is the need, destroying weeds before the onset of cotton season, it would make a huge impact on controlling the population of white fly. Agriculture department has decided to destroy weeds at vacant area for the implementation at the mass level. To monitor each road and canals preventive measures are taken.
