CM and Deputy CM honours Canada based Punjabi NRI broadcaster Joginder Bassi with NRI special broadcaster award

The culture of Punjab underwent significant phases of evolution Now, Today, Punjabi people are widely distributed all over the world. As a result, the traditional culture has been strengthened and expanded to the western world as well, especially US, UK and Canada. The Broadcast Awards have seen an outstanding collection of original and influential winners over the past two decades.

The Broadcaster Award honors an individual who has made extraordinary contributions in its field.Broadcasters Association will be honoring stations for their Excellence in Broadcasting. The Canada based Punjabi NRI broadcaster of ‘Gaonda Punjab Radio’ Toronto Joginder Bassi with the ‘NRI Special Broadcaster Award’ carrying a cash prize of Rs 5lakh was honoured.

On this occasion government decided the foreign based Punjabi media to play a pro-active role in disseminating information, news and views in a free, fair and objective manner besides highlighting the overall development of the state in true perspective. Apart from the original plays of Punjabi, adaptation from other Indian languages and foreign languages are also included. Punjab today is developing a lot in the means of tourism.
