Badal has devoted
his entire life to amity and harmony in Punjab for the development of state. He
termed 2016 as devoted to
development which would give a glory to Punjab. The patience to devote to their constituencies and
listen to the problems of the people. The ardent Punjab Rowers show cased
another stellar performance and bagged overall trophy in the 34th National
Rowing Championship held at Hyderabad. Punjab has won two gold, two silver and
one bronze medals in 500 mtr and 2000 mtr Rowing Championships.With 22 states
and more than 400 participants taking to the waters, India watched the
champions fight it out for a coveted place in the national side.
Punjab bagged the overall trophy
in the 34th National Rowing Championships held at Hyderabad from January 25 to
31. Punjab won two gold medals, two silver medals and one bronze medal. Navneet
Kaur won the gold medal in the women’s single sculls. Navneet partnered
Harpreet Kaur to win the gold in the women’s double sculls. Gurmeet Singh and Ranjeet Singh won the
silver in the men’s light-weight double sculls. Mandeep Kaur, Monika, Beant
Kaur and Avantika won the silver in the women’s four event. In the men’s U-21
double sculls, Kulwant Singh and Sukhvinder Singh won the bronze medal.
Telangana Rowing Association
hosted the event at the Hussain Sagar International Rowing Course. Rowing
Federation of India organizes the annual event. Rowing Federation of India is
the central body for the game of rowing in India. It is affiliated with the
Indian Olympic Association and Federation Internationale des Societes D’
Aviron.
