Double decker buses for Amritsar

The Punjab Tourism department has planned to start the bus services to Amritsar and around shrine destinations soon which will give a sense of relief to all the devotees and tourists.
This information was given today by the Tourism Minister Sohan Singh Thandal. This service will be useful for this religious and historical city. About eight thousand Sikh pilgrims and foreign tourists per day visit the city. These services from Amritsar to major tourist destinations are usually provided by some private tour operators and no special transport services to go to these places are available regularly.
He said that keeping in mind the convenience of passengers, a heap of five double-decker hop on buses has been decided to run in Amritsar. The bus service will be available during the day and visitors can go to Darbar Sahib, Rambagh Gate, Rambagh Gardens, Town Hall, Temple Durgyana, Gobindgarh Fort, Heritage Village, War Memorial, Wagah Border and Ramtirth temple and would have to buy only a single ticket to travel on it throughout the day.
Thandal said that the proposal of hop-on buses has been approved in a meeting headed by Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal.
