Sukhbir Badal lays foundation stones of three projects at Dhudike

On the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of martyr Lala Lajpat Rai, deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal laid foundation stones of the three much awaited projects worth Rs 10.27 crores at Dhudike village in Moga on Thursday.
 
Badal, while paying rich tributes to Lala Lajpat Rai at his memorial established at Dhudike village, said these celebrations would not only keep alive rich legacy of legendary freedom fighter, but will also help to keep alive the nationalism and patriotism amongst the youth.
Badal laid foundation stones of three projects which included construction of an auditorium in the village, laying of an astroturf at the Desh Bhagat hockey stadium and building a 6.39 km road connecting Dhudike with national highway (NH)-95 via Churhchak.
Jail minister Sohan Singh Thandal, industries minister Madan Mohan Mittal, agriculture minister Tota Singh from state government and BJP state president Kamal Sharma were present in the state level function, while nobody from Union government come to attend it.
As per information, members of Lala Lajpat Rai Birthplace Committee (LLRBC) had put forward some demands regarding development of the village before the Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal during a meeting held on January 21.
The demands included construction of an auditorium in the village, laying an astroturf at the Desh Bhagat stadium, construction of a railway under bridge (RUB) at the Ajitwal railway crossing, sub-tehsil at Ajitwal and laying of sewerage pipelines and carpeting of roads in the village.
The anniversary celebrations were started on January 25 and villagers had organised several games including hockey, kabbadi and football. The winners of the games were conferred trophies and cash prizes on the final day.
