To combat the falling water table of Punjab due to its excessive use for irrigation, Akali Dal Government has introduced a plan to treat the contaminated water of ponds to use it for irrigation. The Government has also launched activities to check the contamination of Pious Rivulet Kali Bein at an outlay of Rs.55 lacs
ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਸਿੰਜਾਈ ਕਾਰਨ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਿੱਗ ਰਹੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਪੱਧਰ ਦਾ ਟਾਕਰਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਦੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਛੱਪੜਾਂ ਦੇ ਗੰਦੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਫ ਕਰਕੇ ਇਸਨੂੰ ਸਿੰਜਾਈ ਲਈ ਵਰਤਣ ਦੀ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਕਾਲੀ ਵੇਈਂ ਨਦੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੰਦਗੀ ਸੁੱਟਣ ‘ਤੇ ਰੋਕ ਲਾਉਣ ਲਈ 55 ਲੱਖ ਰੁਪਏ ਦੀ ਲਾਗਤ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਜ ਵੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ।
